Anthony M. Waszak, age 89, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 10, 2007 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born June 24, 1917 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Martin & Stella (Osinski) Waszak. He was united in marriage to Lillian Greski on October 11, 1941 in Detroit. Anthony was a corporal in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946 as a radar operator, having trained at Fort Dix Radar School in New Jersey. Anthony and Lillian owned and operated Waszaks Cold Cuts in Caro for sixteen years, and Zielinskis Meat Market in Bay City for eight years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a devout family man. Anthony was a golf enthusiast who was proud of accomplishing a “hole in one” two times. He was also a sports enthusiast that enjoyed playing and watching baseball, and was a Detroit Tigers Fan. Anthony is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Lillian Waszak; two children and their spouses, Robert & Martha Waszak of Lansing, and Elaine & Robert Rabideau of Lansing; six grandchildren and their spouses, Emily & Jeremy Florence, Adam Waszak, Anthony Waszak, Nathan & Charlene Rabideau, Rachel & Nicholas Lipinski and Amanda Rabideau; eight great-grandchildren, Chloe Waszak, Olivia Waszak, Adam Waszak, Robert Florence, Luke Florence, Cassidy Florence, Ainsley Florence, Braden Rabideau and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Ann Waszak; a granddaughter, Whitney Lane Waszak; one brother and four sisters, Edward Joseph Waszak, Rose Blaz, Genevieve Schmitt, Sister Annadette Waszak and Sister Veronica Waszak.
