John Frank

John Frank, age 80 years, of Middleburg, Florida, formerly of Caro, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on December 13, 1925 in North Branch, Michigan to the late Albert and Ethel (Popp) Frank. John married the former Rebecca Fader on October 13, 1951. He had resided in Caro until he moved to Middleburg, Florida in 2002. John loved to work with wood and was a carpenter and painter in Michigan for most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also liked gardening and fishing. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Frank of Middleburg, Florida; three children, Bruce (Peggy) Frank of Middleburg, Florida, Kim (Tammy) Frank of Vassar, Pam (Dave) Howden of Middleburg, Florida; seven grandchildren, Angie Chandler, Rachael Frank, Heather Frank, Brandon Frank, Nicole Frank, Corey Howden and Nick Howden; two great-grandchildren, Alice Nash and Amelia Chandler; two brothers, Albert Frank of Dearborn and George Frank of Cass City; one sister, Irene Whittaker of Cass City; and a brother-in-law, Steve Franks of Marlette. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Frank; and four sisters, Ann Berta, Rose Quitter, Helen Franks and Shirley Short. The funeral will be held at the Caro United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Woodford of the Vassar United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
