Konrad Konwalski, age 95, of Cass City, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008 at Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City. He was born on November 21, 1912 in Germany. Konrad Konwalski married the former Leokadia Jaskolski on December 4, 1942 in Poland, and they immigrated to the United States in 1953. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2002. Konrad was a WWII veteran. He and his wife lived first in New York City and then came to Hamtramck where Konrad worked as a self-employed baker. In 1959 he and his wife came to Cass City where they owned and operated Konrads Bakery until his retirement. He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Teresa (James) Tutwiler of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Michele (Walter) Szostak of Caro; two grandchildren, Michael (Elizabeth) Tutwiler of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Joshua (Mary) Male of Bay City; one granddaughter-in-law, Anna Tutwiler of Pearland, Texas; three great-grandsons, Garret and Cole Tutwiler of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Austin Tutwiler of Pearland, Texas., two great-granddaughters, Emma and Bella Male of Bay City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Rusty Tutwiler; and all of his siblings. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
