Margaret Dudek

Margaret Mary Dudek, age 90, of Caro passed away peacefully at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility on Saturday, October 30, 2010. The former Margaret Neff was born on April 18, 1920 in Royal Oak to Angus and Gertrude (Smith) Neff. She came to Tuscola County as a child and the family resided on Riley at Hurds Corner Road. She was a graduate of Caro High School and County Normal. Margaret became a county school teacher at the Seilbock Country School, and on September 26, 1942 the former Margaret Neff married Constantine “Connie” Dudek in Wilmot. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1995. She obtained her Bachelor Degree from Central Michigan University while teaching at Kingston, Akron Fairgrove, and Buena Vista Schools. After her retirement, she and her husband operated Alcona Canoe Rental at Glennie. Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fairgrove V.F.W. Post #7486 Auxiliary and the Tuscola County Polish American Club. She was an avid reader, golfed while they were in Florida, and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Dudek of Bridgeport; a son, James (Barbara) Dudek of Fairgrove; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Art) Bernia of Akron, Jessica (Dan) Murphy of Lansing, and Amanda Dudek of Fairgrove; three great-grandchildren, Sy, Kent Bernia, Emmaline Murphy all at home; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by onr sister and two brothers, Rosemary Hill, Edward and Frank Neff. Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Kurcharczyk officiating. There will be visitation at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. A family Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Rite of Committal will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Wilmot. Memorials may be made to the G.T.O. Committee of the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility.
