Marie W. Baldwin, age 95, of Ortonville, formerly of Caro, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Pine Tree Place in Clarkston. She was born on September 25, 1913 in Argentine, Michigan to the late Samuel and Francis (Morse) Geney. The former Marie Geney first married Joseph Jackson Davis, Sr. in 1933, and he preceded her in death in 1967. Marie then married Dwight Baldwin in 1973, and he preceded her in death in 2000. She was a homemaker, mother and wife and a devoted Christian. Her talents with crocheting and singing were well known. Many times she was requested to sing for special occasions, such as weddings and funerals. She was a member of the First Open Bible Church of Pontiac and most recently the Caro Assembly Of God Church. She is survived by one son, Joseph Jackson Davis, Jr. and his wife, Goldie, of Ortonville; her grandchildren include, Linda James of Glennie, Eric (Marge) McClain of Alpena, Joseph Jackson Davis III of Auburn Hills and Joshua Jackson Davis of Ft. Meyers, Florida; several great- grandchildren; three step-children, Patricia M. Graf of Spring Hill, Florida, JoAnn McAlister of Waterford and Rev. Dwight J. (Sherry) Baldwin of Fairmont, West Virginia; her aunt, Margaret Kenney of Pontiac; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lee McClain; a sister, Bertha Chambers; and two aunts Grace Greathead and Theresa Smead. The funeral will be held at Caro Assembly of God Church on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at White Chapel in Troy, Michigan on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time.of service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Caro Assembly of God Church.
