Norma Downing

Norma Downing, age 68 years, of Gun Club Road, Caro, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at her home. She was born on March 13, 1938 in Caro, to the late Malcolm and Ida Rose (Berry) McLeod. The former Norma McLeod married Raymond C. Downing on September 20, 1958 in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2000. She was a 1955 graduate of Caro High School. Norma was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Daniel Downing, Tina (Troy) Bilkovsky and Shawn Downing, all of Caro; four grandchildren, Casey, Duane, Jeremiah and Alyssa; one great-grandson, PJ Downing, with one more on the way; two sisters, Onalee Crawford of Cass City and Janet (Richard) Walker of Caro. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth McLeod; and one granddaughter, Sara Schneider. Funeral services will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Arnold Burger officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
