Richard L. Quinn, age 85, passed away suddenly at home Saturday evening August 18, 2012. Dick was born November 27, 1927 in Caro, the son of the late Charles T. & Norma Lee (Dryer) Quinn and was a lifelong resident. Dick enlisted in the U.S. Navy on December 16, 1943, at the age of 17 years old and served in the Asiatic Pacific Area of combat for two straight years, before returning home. Dick was united in marriage with the former Geraldine “Geri” Starkey on August 3, 1946 at the Caro First Presbyterian Church and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Dicks early years of employment was in a variety of jobs. He is best remembered as a car salesman in several local Ford dealerships in Caro. The last job as a salesman was with the Moore Ford Dealership. Dick is survived by the love of his life, Geri Quinn of Caro; two sons and their wives, Fred & Rita Quinn of Williamsburg, Virginia, Jeff & Carol Quinn of Caro; five grandchildren and their spouses and their eleven children, Gorden & Cami Lundgrin, the parents of Alex; Tina & Israel Sullivan, the parents of Hanna, Ethen and Dylan; Erick A. Quinn; Matt & Kourti Quinn, the parents of Aaden, Anikka, Abigale, Avery and Adlay; Kelly & Erik Robinson, the parents of Quinn and Kayla. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, William and Gloria (Spaulding) Quinn. In respect of his wishes, cremation has taken place.
