Ruben Mclellan

Ruben Dean McLellan, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his daughters home. Ruben was born October 17, 1962 in Caro, and attended Caro High School. He worked at Human Development Commission in Caro making windows and doors for ten years, leaving in 1990. He would join Deckerville Plastics as shift leader in 1995, retiring due to disability in 1998. Ruben will be remembered as a loving and kind family man that would even take in children off the street. He was a very social man, who lived his life for his kids, and loved cookouts with his family. “Youre the star that outshines us all, The con that outcons us all, And the dad that outfathers anyone” Ruben leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Duane Downing of Minden City, Joseph (Samantha) McLellan of Deckerville, Jessica (Wayne) McLellan of Deckerville, Jennifer (Todd) Mills of Palms, Justin McLellan of Holland; his honorary son, Travis Bolsby of Deckerville; his parents, Theron & Sylvia (Martinez) McLellan of Caro; nine grandchildren, Payton Downing, Shelby McLellan, Taylor McLellan, Braylon McLellan, Thomas Mills, Elizabeth Mills, Wesley Hinson, Ethan McLellan, Kahnyr Downing; eight siblings, Debra McLellan of Seattle, Washington, Carl (Kim) McLellan of Pinconning, Linda (Keith) Parks of Rhododendron, Oregon, Gary (Mary) McLellan of Holland, Dorothy (Randy) Hunt of Millington, Marty (Lina) McLellan of Saginaw, Roger (Lori) McLellan of Newaygo, Lisa McLellan of Caro; many nieces and nephews. A private family burial service has occurred. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Caro First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Wigand officiating. The family will receive friends at the Caro First Baptist Church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Family Discretionary Fund.
