Ada J. Hurshburger, age 88 years, a lifelong resident of Wilmot, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on October 10, 1918 in Cass City. She and her family lived in and operated the grocery store in Wilmot, and moved into the Wilmot Hotel in 1946. The former Ada Barrons married Gerald Donald Hurshburger on September 16, 1937 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1982. Throughout her working life, she worked as a clerk at Hills Grocery in Caro and Gross Meat Market in Cass City, and then for a short time, as post mistress in Deford. She has always been an antique dealer. Ada not only dealt in antiques, they were her passion. She is survived by one son, Gerald (Mavis) Hurshburger of Bay City; a brother, Robert (Vera) Barrons of Kingston; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by the remainder of her siblings. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Gregory Barrons officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
