Adeline “Del” Lukasiak, age 82, of Caseville, died peacefully October 17, 2005 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.

Del was born December 12, 1922 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Theresa (Biedron) Moraniec. She married Walter Adam Lukasiak on November 30, 1946 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Detroit. They lived in Detroit and raised their family there until retiring to their cottage on Sand Point in 1977. In retirement they also enjoyed many winters in Jensen Beach, Florida.

Del was an active member of St. Roch Catholic Church, having served as a Eucharistic minister, a catechism teacher and a member of the Women’s Society. Over the past several years Del, along with her daughter Marie, has devoted endless hours to the Caseville Community Christmas Fund making sure that less fortunate families have a bright holiday. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and making crafts. Her grandchildren will especially miss her “big pancakes.”

Del is survived by her husband of 58 years, Walter; children Christine and her husband Bill Kravez of Canton, Mark and his wife Debbie of Farmington Hills, Marie and her husband David Quinn of Caseville, and Brian and his wife Pam of Maple City; grandchildren Jill, Tracy, Bill Jr., Katherine, Rachael, Mark, Luke and Tyler; and great-grandchildren Philip, Eve and Samuel.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Stanley, Michael, Joseph and Chester and sisters Mary and Josephine Draplin.

A funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Yaroch presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 Thursday and 2-8 Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of Mass at church. There will be a rosary at 7:00PM Friday.

Memorials may be made to the St. Roch Community Food Pantry.
