Agnes M. Hunter, 98, of Pigeon, formerly of Port Hope, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Country Garden Assisted Living in Pigeon.
Agnes was born February 13, 1922 in Fairhaven Twp to the late George and Jessie (Davidson) Kuhl. She married Ernest Wooster in 1937; he preceded her in death in 1950. She later married RB Hunter in 1986; he preceded her in death in 2004.
She was a fiercely independent single mother raising her young family in Bay Port. She had a successful 30 year career in banking, retiring in 1987 from Thumb National Bank. After retiring she moved to Port Hope, and then moved to Country Bay in 2014. She was a member of Port Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, walking, playing games and visiting with family and friends.
Agnes is survived by her grandchildren Curt (Susan) Leisentritt, Jay (Shelly) Leisentritt, Tim (Susan) Wooster, Randall Gray, Tina (David) Wade, Denise (Mike) Kubiszak, and Troy (Holly) Gray; great-grandchildren Curtiss and Annette Leisentritt, Owen and Holden Kubiszak and Sydney Gray; six great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Nancy Vant; step-children Jim (Carol) Hunter, David (Darlene) Hunter, and Donna and Jerry Berger.
She was preceded in death by her three children Ronald Wooster, Patricia Winburne and Judy Gray, and two great-grandsons Jayson and A.J. Leisentritt.
Private funeral services will be December 19th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon. Interment will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.
