Alan Dale "Al" Humes, Sr.

Alan Dale Humes, Sr. of Caro, age 63, known to family and friends as "Uncle Al,” passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at his home. Al was born September 29, 1956 in Caro, the son of the late Lloyd Humes and Alberta (Adams) Humes and was a 1974 graduate of Caro High School. Following graduation, Al went to work as sexton for Indianfields Township Cemetery for eighteen years. He then went on to work as a CNC machine operator for Rochester Gear in Clifford, retiring in 2011. Al was united in marriage with the former Joan Magiera on November 15, 1986 at the Caro United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing cards, gambling, and going to casinos. Al was well known as a practical joker who loved to tease. He was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge. Alan is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Joan Humes; four children and their spouses, Alan, Jr. & Patti Humes of Vestaburg, Randi & Anthony Wilcox of Caro, Matthew Humes of Ionia, Christopher Campbell of Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Lorna Turner and husband, Kenzie, Raymond Humes, Nolan Wilcox, Isaac Wilcox, Sarah Powell, Christopher Campbell, Jr., and Elizabeth Campbell; one great-grandchild, Cylis Turner; siblings and spouses, Rhonda Seever, Brian & Mary Jones, Shane & Traci Jones; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father and mother, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Jones; two infant children, Brandon and Gregory; one brother, Terry Humes; and one brother-in-law, Joe Magiera. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
