Albert L. Angst, age 58, of Elkton died Thursday, November 7, 2019 at home with family at his bedside.
He was born October 6, 1961 in Owosso son of Dallas and Janice (Birchmeier) Angst.
Albert was a 1979 graduate of New Lothrop High School, received an associate's degree from Baker College and trained as Journeyman Sprinkler/Pipe Fitter. He had been employed with A-1 Fire Protection as a pipefitter and was a driver for Alro Steel. Albert moved to Huron County in 1994, where he was employed at Tower Automotive, Elkton.
On August 3, 1996, he was united in marriage to Teresa S. Schmidt at the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton making their home in Elkton. In 2013, he took a position at Agri Valley Services, Pigeon where he was currently employed.
Albert was a very talented man. In addition to his regular employment he worked part time as an electrician. He spent countless hours with his boys in his shed fabricating, tinkering and inventing. He enjoyed playing poker with his many poker buddies as well as in local tournaments.
Surviving are his wife, Teresa; children, Becca (Drew) Amy of Scottville, Scott and Matthew Angst both of Elkton; grandson Landon; his parents, Dallas and Janice Angst of New Lothrop; mother-in-law, Barbara Schmidt of Owendale; siblings, Mary Jo (Bill) Nix of Angleton, TX, Cindy (Brian) Hagle of Sand Point, Ralph Angst of Flushing, Cheryl (Don) Urban of New Lothrop and Dottie (Jeff) Roy of Chesaning; in-laws, Rick (Barb) Schmidt, Joel (special friend, Jamie) Schmidt both of Owendale, Randy Schmidt and Mike (Loretta) Schmidt both of Gagetown and Michele Stewart of Port Austin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Rick and father-in-law Joseph Schmidt.
A memorial service will be conducted noon Friday, November 15, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Pigeon. His friend and coworker, Terry Brown will officiate with interment at Riverside Cemetery, Elkton at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for the boy's college education.
