Albert Lee Deming Jr, 86, of Bay Port, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Al was born September 16, 1934 in Bay Port to the late Albert Sr and Stella (Beadle) Deming. He graduated from Pigeon High School in 1952. On November 7, 1958 he married Donna Deeg at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh; she preceded him in death January 21, 2014.
Al retired from Tower Automotive in 2002 as a tool and die maker. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh and the Fairhaven Twp Fire Dept. He had a cabin in Clear Lake where he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. His favorite past time was fishing in Saginaw Bay: “A day without fishing is a wasted day.” He enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers Baseball.
Al is survived by his children Denean (Allen) Lemanski of Harbor Beach and Deanne (Don) Smith of Pigeon; grandchildren Samantha (Edward) Razo, Quin Smith and Brayden (Lauren Siegfried) Smith; great-grandchildren Emmitt and Enzo Razo and Reed Smith; brothers Bill Deming of Sebewaing, Frank (Wilma) Deming of Bay Port and Herb (Elaine) Deming of Caro; brother-in-law Ron (Lorraine) Deeg of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his son Dean, sisters Daisy Hinton, Grace Finkbeiner and Agnes Killingbeck and brothers Darl, Pete, and David Deming.
Funeral services will be 6:00pm Monday, June 7th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Thom Garrison officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm Monday and continue until the time of the service.
The family would like to recognize the staff at Courtney Manor for the professional and compassionate care they received during his stay and the “Neighborhood Watch” in Bay Port which was more like family than neighbors.
Memorials may be made to the Bay Port Historical Society or the Fairhaven Twp Fire Dept.
