Albert Junior Mattice

Albert Junior Mattice of Caro, age 80, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Al was born October 29, 1937 in Chandler Township in Huron County, the son of the late George Albert & Hazel Beatrice (McAlpine) Mattice. He grew up in Pinnebog and was married to Sally Brown from 1960 to 1973. Al was employed as a farm worker at the Hagel and Wakefield Farms in the Pinnebog area before enlisting in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he served as a factory worker at Evans Products in Gagetown and Active Industries in Elkton. Al later worked as a truck driver for Moore's Feed and spent over thirty years as a caretaker at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. Al is survived by his constant companion of forty-three years, Elsie Johnson of Caro; two daughters and their husbands, Ethel & Floyd Morrish of Gagetown, Ronda & Steven Snow of Ubly; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands, Shelby & Lavern Warchock of Kalkaska, Norma & Larry Timm of Bad Axe; step-children and their spouses, Donna & Dennis VanHorn of Caro, Margie Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Raymond & Terry Johnson, Billy & Darlene Johnson, Tonya Johnson, all of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by two sons, Alvin and Randy Bosley; two brothers, Robert and Buster Mattice; step-children, Mary Reas, Nancy Tucker, Evelyn Dora, Willie Johnson, Ronnie Johnson. In keeping with Al's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial luncheon will be held at a later date.
