Albert Santelle

April 5, 1924 — April 21, 2009

Albert Santelle age 85, of Sand Point died Tuesday afternoon, April
21, at his home with his family at his bedside.
He was born April 5, 1924, to the late Antonio and Gemma (DiMassimo)
Santelle in Detroit.
After high school Al joined the US Navy and served in Europe during WW
II. Shortly after his discharge from the Armed Forces, he was united in
marriage, to Evelyn Robson, July 14, 1945 in Detroit. Their marriage was
blessed with four children. Evelyn preceded him in death August 19, 1968.
He and Donna Muentener were married October 24, 1970 in Birmingham.
Al was employed by Ford Motor Co., Tractor Division, Troy, Mi. for 35
years. In 1997 he and Donna relocated to Huron County.
Al loved watching and playing sports. He pitched two "No Hitters"
while on a Detroit semi pro Fast Pitch Softball team. He later enjoyed
playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Donna; three children, Karen
(Jim) Martin of Cincinnati, Gloria (Mike Sweeney) Santelle of Ypsilanti and
Don (Cathy) Santelle of Grayslake, IL; his grandchildren, Jim (Len), David
and John Martin, Danny and Christie Santelle and a great-grandson, William
(Liam) Martin.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Evelyn, son, Dennis; sisters,
Nancy, Ida, Helen, Elizabeth, Jennie, Agnes and brothers, Antonio and Louis.
A memorial luncheon will be served from 1 to 4 PM Saturday, May 2, at
his home for family, friends, neighbors and caregivers.
