Alberta Lou Jones, age 71, of Caro, passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 7, 2006. The former Alberta Lou Adams was born on December 16, 1934, in Caro, and with the exception of a few years in Lansing, was a lifelong resident. She was a Caro High School graduate and worked in many locations throughout Caro, including owning and operating Shirleys Salon. Alberta married Robert Jones on June 11, 1966 in Caro and he preceded her in death on September 3, 1982. She enjoyed playing bingo, bird watching, and going to casinos. Alberta is survived by her children and spouses, Alan (Joan) Humes of Caro, Brian (Mary)Jones of Caro, Shane (Traci) Jones of Caro and Rhonda (Chris) Seever of Hayward, Wisconsin; daughter-in-law, Valerie Humes of Caro; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jerry (Alice) Adams of Deford, Cecil (Brigitte) Adams of Caro, Nelda (Jim) Stevens of Caro, Karen Erickson of Florida, Curtis (Penny) Adams of Mayville, Dennise (Gerald) Gusek of Mayville, Linda Sharp of Caro, Kim (Mark) Carr of Elkton and sister-in-law, Lillie Adams, of Cass City; several nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Clara Jones, of Cass City. In addition to her parents, Hurshel and Carmen Adams, and her husband, Robert Jones, she was also preceded in death a son, Terry Lee Humes, earlier this year; and her siblings and spouses, Elma (Marion) and Donald Duncan, Robert Adams, Carmen (Ferol) and Jack Lake, Johnny Adams, Alan Adams and Richard Adams; three grandsons, Brandon, Gregory and Brett Humes; and her father-in-law, Clarence Jones. The funeral will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at 12:00 p.m. with Christopher Taylor facilitating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alberta Jones family discretionary fund, c/o Shane Jones.
