Alberto C. Martinez, Sr.

Alberto C. Martinez, Sr., age 80, of Sebewaing, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City.

Albert was born in Castroville, Texas on September 3, 1944 to Fabian and Angelita (Cuellar) Martinez. He married Angelina Camacho on February 8, 1969 in Caro. Albert worked as a farm crew foreman for many farmers in the Thumb Area, and was known for his hard work ethic. He enjoyed being with his family and visiting with friends.

Albert is survived by his children: Alberto C. Martinez, Jr. of Sebewaing, Shirley (Sean) Duletzke of Saginaw, Steven Martinez of Mount Dora, FL, Amy (Mike) Van Hove of Akron, and Glory Martinez of Chicago, IL; 4 grandchildren: Ashley (Brian) Brandenburg, Tristan (Anna) Van Hove, Erica (Darryl) Scoggins, and Dallas Duletzke; 6 great grandchildren: Adelyn, Elliot, Henry, Jaxon, Jameson and Maverick; siblings: Aurello (Mary) Martinez of Unionville, Irene Martinez (Fritz Burell) of Sebewaing, Martha (Greg) Arebelo of Unionville, Sylvia (Frank) Vargas of Grand Ledge, Fabian (Pam) Martinez, Jr. of Flint; brother-in-laws: Richard Botello, Sr of Castroville, TX and Carlos Torres, Sr. of Vassar.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Angelina in 2005; his parents, Fabian and Angelita Martinez; daughter, Hope Martinez; and siblings: Oden Martinez, Dora Botello and Angelita Torres.

Visitation and service will be Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Inc. with visiting from 9am-2pm and the service beginning at 2pm. After the service a luncheon will be served at the Sebewaing Township Hall, next to the fire hall.

Burial will be Monday at Wisner Township Cemetery at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family.
