Alfred "Jim" Chalou, age 68, of Bay Port, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday morning, December 16, 2013.
Jim was born September 23, 1945 in Detroit to the late Alfred and Hazel (Wills) Chalou. On September 20, 1980 he married Donna (Hahn) at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. He retired in 2001 as a safety director from Tower Automotive in Sebewaing. He was a active member of Community of Christ Church in Bay Port. He served on the Mental Health Board for 28 years. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Donna (Hahn) Chalou; his children: Tammy Cox, Cynthia (Eric) Bushey, Vicki Winter, Amy (Anthony) Merriam and Geri Kay (Kevin) Mclean; siblings: Bob (Cindy) Chalou, Bryan (Sandy) Chalou and Nita Chalou; grandchildren: Josh, Jon (Connie), Rachel, Lydia, Luke, Tanner, Katelyn, Faith, David, GeriLynn, Grace and Conner; and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.
The funeral service will be Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Community of Christ Church in Bay Port. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Cremation will take place following the service.
