Alfred Roy Kelterborn, age 82, of Caseville, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Providence Hospital, Southfield, after a short illness.
Al was born August 20, 1927 in Caseville to the late Louis and Mary (Nagy) Kelterborn. He grew up on the farm and graduated from Elkton High School in 1945. On June 30, 1956 Al married MaryLou Kreh at Salem Evangelical Church in Pigeon.
Al was a lifelong farmer who loved the land. He was an active member of the Methodist Church and the Caseville Eagles. He enjoyed sports, playing cards, the outdoors and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife MaryLou; children Pamela Edwards of Waterford, Mark of Caseville, Linda of Royal Oak, and Clay (Valerie McCallum) of Caseville; siblings Arthur (Virginia) of East Lansing, Ruth (Hank) Wille of Traverse City, Evelyn (Warren) McLaury of Hastings and Richard (Janis) of Clarkston; sister-in-law Jean Kelterborn of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers William and Robert and sisters Helen Wilson, Alice Turner and Ida Warson.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Saturday at the Caseville United Methodist Church with Rev. David Freeland officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday and 1-8 pm Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Caseville Community Christmas Fund.
