Alfred J. Koeck

Alfred J. Koeck, 92, of Lapeer, formerly of Caseville, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at The Ridge at Lapeer.

Alfred was born April 17, 1932 in Kerschbaum, Austria to the late Johann and Agnes (Lackner) Koeck.  At the age of 21 he immigrated to Canada in 1953 and then moved to Detroit in 1958.  He retired from GM Tech Center in 1998 as a Tool and Die Maker.  He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Austrian Club.  In 2006 he moved to Caseville and spent winters in Florida.  He enjoyed camping, skiing, hiking and most of all, swimming.

Alfred is survived by his life partner Irene Hertel; daughter-in-law Cynthia Nielsen; grandson Andrew Koeck; and brother Gottfried (Judith) Koeck.  He was preceded in death by his wife Ursula, son Hardy and daughter Diana.

A memorial service will be Noon, Saturday, May 17th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Linda Fuller officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00am and continue until the time of the service.  Interment will be in Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak.
