Alice Beckrow

Alice Alta Beckrow, age 63, of Caro, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2009 at Covenant-Cooper in Saginaw. She was born on January 12, 1946 in Caro to the late Milo and Lillian (Putman) Albee. Alice was raised in Vassar and graduated from Vassar High School in 1963. On June 15, 1963 the former Alice Albee was united in marriage with Kenneth Beckrow at St. Michaels Lutheran Church in Richville. Upon their marriage, the couple moved to their present location in rural Caro. She has been a lifelong resident of Tuscola County. Alice was employed for a number of years as the cafeteria manager at Woolworths and then as mailroom manager for the Tuscola County Advertiser until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. In addition to her church, she enjoyed her family along with camping, fishing, reading and crocheting. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Norman Beckrow; her children, Kenneth Beckrow II and Donna of Fox Lake, Wisconsin, Debra Allen of Caro, Keith Beckrow and Deborah McIntosh of Deland, Florida, twins, Donald Beckrow of Caro and Ronald (Kristine) Beckrow of Caro and Roy (Pam) Beckrow of Caro; twenty-eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Parent of Vassar and Donnabell Randall of Caro; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three granddaughters, twins, Fauna and Faith Beckrow and Lillian Marie (DuRussell) Beckrow; two brothers and one sister, Glenn Albee, Bill Albee and Laverne Huber. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Alice Beckrow family discretionary fund, c/o Kenneth Beckrow.
