Alice Lucille Biddinger

Alice Lucille Biddinger passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 25, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was 81 years old. Alice was united in marriage with Richard Biddinger on May 17, 1958, and the couple moved from Rochester, Michigan to Caro in 1965. Alice and Richard were blessed to celebrate sixty years of marriage earlier this month. Alice was class president of her 1955 Ferndale High School graduating class and attended Albion College. She was a Cub Scout Leader, served on the Caro Community Hospital Endowment Board, and was also on the committee to establish the Almer Township Park. Alice had a strong faith and was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church where she served as a youth leader for many years. She was an excellent cook and baker and made fabulous pies. She loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures with family and friends. Beautiful sunsets were not to be missed wherever they happened to be. But what Alice loved most was being with family and friends, and providing for others. Alice was "Mom" and "Grandma" to many. Her kindness, love, generosity and positive attitude will be remembered by all that knew her. Alice is survived by her husband, Richard Biddinger; sons, Greg (Michelle) Biddinger of Cass City, Michigan and Dr. Kent (Ann Marie) Biddinger of Midland, Michigan; grandchildren, Ryan Biddinger of Traverse City, Michigan, Lynn (Kirk) Lester of Fruitland Park, Florida, Reid Biddinger and Scott Biddinger of Midland, Michigan; great-grandchild, Timothy Lester of Fruitland Park, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfrid and Helen (Scott) Laking; and sister, Margaret "Peggy" Gilbert. In keeping with Alice's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Caro United Methodist Church, 670 West Gilford Road, with Rev. Dr. Tony Tomasino officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Caro United Methodist Church or the Biddinger Family Fund of the Tuscola County Community Foundation.
