Alice Beatrice Gilbert

Alice B. Gilbert, 85, of Caseville passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro.

Alice was born August 15, 1936 in Owendale to the late Lawrence and Margaret (Neidrich) Block. She graduated from Owendale High School in 1954. On August 17, 1957 she married Bruce Gilbert at Kilmanagh Evangelical United Brethren Church; he preceded her in death August 10, 2014.

Alice was a member of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church and previously was a member at Elkton Missionary Church where she was involved in children’s ministry and was the church custodian. She enjoyed gardening and homemaking. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children Connie (Tom) DeSimpelare of Columbiaville, Donna (Ken) Murawski of Port Austin, Gary of Caseville and Joyce (Erik) O’Connell of Davison; grandchildren Becca (Matt) Sawade, Rachel (Ryan) Francis, Josh DeSimpelare, Jessica and Jason Murawski, Paige and Allie O’Connell; great-grandchildren Adelynn, Everly, and Elsie; brother Alfred “Jim” Block; brothers-in-law Glenn Craig and Robert Bedford and sister-in-law Nancy Chappel; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Ethel Craig and Esther Bedford.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, October 4th at the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-6 Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.
