Alice M. Hazzard, 81, of Bad Axe, formerly of Caseville and Utica, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at home under hospice care.
Alice was born April 1, 1941 in Mt. Clemens to the late Kenneth and Margaret (Westlake) Denison. She graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1959. On May 1, 1972 she married Wayne Hazzard in Sterling Heights. She worked as a school bus driver for Utica Schools and retired from Walmart. She was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, where she was the former president of the Women’s Society, and St. Hubert Parish. She volunteered with the Huron County Sheriff’s office Victim Advocate Program.
Alice is survived by husband Wayne; children Ken (special friend Annette Pechette) of Caseville, Rose (special friend Jim Dondineau) of Filion and Mary (special friend David Bartig) of Port Huron; step children Marci (Mark) Dombrowski and David Hazzard; grandchildren Ken (Samantha), Josh (Sara), Melissa (Dave), Jennifer, Meghan, Danielle, Jennifer and Michael; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Allen Convery, son William Convery, brother William Denison and grandson Jacob Moolhuizen.
A funeral mass will be 11:00am Friday, August 12th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe with Fr. TJ Fleming presiding. Visitation will be 2-6 Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.
