Alice Jean Small

Alice Jean Small, age 81, of Bay Port, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in Grand Rapids.

Alice was born in Bay Port on July 19, 1938 to Elmer and Etta (Gillingham) Gall.  After graduating from Bay Port High School, she attended a business school. She married Gerald R. Wise and later she married Robert W. Small. She worked as a Production Operator for Saginaw Steering Gear. She was an active member in the Bay Port Historical Society, enjoyed watching birds, traveling/vacationing and visiting with friends over dinner and shopping.

Alice is survived by her children: Jean Henne of Bay Port, Terri Small of Bay Port, Bob Small of Kansas City, Missouri and Miya Jaglowski of Grand Rapids; 2 brothers: Floyd "Bud" McGillivray and Larry Gall; grandchildren: Jeremy Schweitzer, Jessica Morgan, Taryn Marcinowski, Brie Jaglowski, Thomas Jaglowski, Teddy Small and Violet Small; great grandchildren: Becca Morgan, Jaden Morgan and Eli Patterson; and nieces and nephews.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Small; and sister, Patricia "Pat" Babcock.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 2pm until the time of service at 3pm.

Burial will be at New Bay Port Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Bay Port Historical Society.
