Alice Witkovsky, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Timberline Lodge in Caro. She was born on September 2, 1917 in Gagetown, the daughter of the late Clyde and Margaret (Dudenhofer) Chaffee. On April 8, 1977 Alice was united in marriage with Clayton G. Witkovsky at the Caro United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2009. Alice was a homemaker all of her life, and enjoyed reading gardening and playing dominoes. She was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church. Alice is survived by three sons, Roy Allen & Norma Wightman of Caro, Donald Nelson & Marie Wightman of Westminster, South Carolina, Kevin Lloyd & Lisa Wightman of Caro; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Frances McCoon of Caro, Arlene Stilson and her husband, Carl, of Mayville, Shirley Chaffee of Columbiaville; one brother, Rev. George Chaffee of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro United Methodist Church or Timberline Lodge of Caro.
