Alice Wortman

Alice M. Wortman of Waterford, age 64, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at her home. She was born November 9, 1948 in Cass City, the daughter of Dale C. & Avice C. (Walls) Smith. Alice graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1967 and then graduated from Saginaw Valley College four years later. She was employed by the State of Michigan Department of Social Services for twenty-five years in Oakland County. Alice was united in marriage with Donald M. Wortman on November 21, 1975 in Madison Heights. He preceded her in death in April of 1978. Alice was a life member of the Church of Christ, Scientist. In her spare time, Alice loved working in her flower garden at her home, cooking, sewing and being with her friends and family. Alice is survived by her father, Dale C. Smith of Caro; one sister and her husband, Barbara & Phillip Parrott of Deckerville and one niece and her husband, Kelly & Brian Milosevic of Shelby Township. In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Avice C. Smith on May 31, 2012. In respect to Alices wishes, cremation has taken place. At this time, service plans are pending. Burial will occur in the spring at North Grove Cemetery, south of Caro.
