Alietta M. Aldrich, age 89, passed away Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. Alietta was born on August 6, 1918, the daughter of the late August H. M. and Minna (Schulz) Meyer in Blumfield Township in rural Saginaw County. She graduated from Saginaw High School and the Battle Creek School of Nursing, working at Bay City Mercy Hospital for several years. She was united in marriage to Ellis G. Aldrich on December 18, 1943 at St. James Lutheran Church in Munger, the church of her baptism. The couple moved to their home on Darbee Road outside of Fairgrove where they started a certified seed farm, and raised their family there for over sixty years. Ellis preceded Alietta in death on December 19, 2003. Alietta was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairgrove, its Ladies Aid and Bible Study Group. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and cooking, especially chocolate cakes. She will be fondly remembered for her deep love and concern for her husband and family. Alietta is survived by one son and two daughters, Charles Alan and his wife Marilyn Aldrich of Sandusky, Cynthia M. Bublitz of Fairgrove, Donna E. Zsolzai of Caro; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Horneber and Doris Weiss, both of Bay City, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Alietta was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Walter and Wilmer Meyer, Ellen Mielens and Wilma Mossner.
