Aline Ruth Heckroth

Aline Ruth Heckroth of Kingston, age 74, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison in Saginaw, following a period of declining health. Aline was born January 26, 1946 in Highland Park, the daughter of the late Roy & Ruth (Eckl) Bouck. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Cooley High School with the class of 1964. Aline continued her education at Wayne State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Education and began a teaching career at Roseville High School. She was united in marriage with Dale William Heckroth on June 20, 1970 and moved to Unionville with him that same year. While in Unionville, Aline taught at USA Schools while also earning her master's degree at the University of Michigan. In 1980, she and Dale moved to Kingston where she would teach for several years before finishing her career in Sandusky in special education, retiring in 2007. Aline cherished her time teaching for decades and was a consummate mentor and teacher to countless students. She was a member of the Ellington Church of the Nazarene where she was considered a Prayer Warrior. She also enjoyed Early American architecture, traveling, gardening, and reading by a cozy fireplace. Aline is survived by one daughter and her husband, Shana & John Ransford of Bay City; her former husband, Dale Heckroth of Kingston; and many friends she loved as family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Ellington Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Boulton officiating. Burial will follow later that day at the Kingston Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Saginaw Rescue Mission.
