Allen Leonard Ewald

Allen Leonard Ewald of Caro, age 84, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. Allen was born February 12, 1933 in Unionville, the son of the late Aaron and Twila (Robinson) Ewald. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church at Columbia Corners. Allen was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and following his discharge, he was an over the road truck driver until his retirement, driving for a number of companies. He enjoyed his work, was a member of the Teamsters, enjoyed playing cards, dice, and Rummikub. Allen is survived by two sons and their spouses, Allen C. & Jannis Ewald of Cass City, Jeffrey & Kim Ewald of Kawkawlin; four grandchildren, Kelsie Ewald, Karson Ewald, Aaron & Amy Ewald, Danielle & Eric Lofback; two great-grandchildren, Madeline Ewald and Landon Lofback; his special friend, Louise Beecher; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Shirley & Wayne Daniels, Jake & Velma Sattler, Lorraine Lewis, Don & Bernice Ewald. In keeping with Allen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
