Allen F. Lambert, age 88 years, of Caro, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center in Mayville. He was born on March 26, 1920 in Vassar to the late Fred and Ruth (Allen) Lambert. Allen was a Vassar High School graduate. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp and served during WWII and later served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Allen Lambert and the former Leone Eilers Weldon were married on November 18, 1950 at Puyallup, Washington. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2000. He was employed by the Detroit Edison Company throughout his civilian working career. Allen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Theron W. Atwood Sr. American Legion Post #7 in Caro, and the Exchange Club of Caro. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, the Detroit Tigers, touring baseball stadiums, watching high school sports, and was an aviation enthusiast. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Royeen (George) Heins of Gladwin, twin sons, Thomas (Lynne) Lambert of Unionville and Terry (Marsha) Lambert of Marshall; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two siblings, Larry (Karen) Lambert of North Branch and Virginia Bogert of Goodrich; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three siblings, Wayne Lambert, Elaine Hecht and Gloria Hecht. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
