Allen James Welther

Allen James Welther, age 72, of Sebewaing, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Symphony Assisted Living in Bay City.

Allen was born March 27, 1948, in Pigeon, to Edward and Aldine (Kaatz) Welther. After graduating from Sebewaing High School in 1966, he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He married Deborah Louise Jolly on January 23, 1993. He worked as a machine press operator for Saginaw Steering Gear for 33-34 years. He enjoyed motorcycles, motorcycle runs and was a member of the Thunder Across the Thumb. Allen also enjoyed traveling, vacationing, camping, scuba diving and taking videos and pictures of underwater photography. He also enjoyed working for Thumb Salvage, working on computers, boating and watching sunsets on the beach.

Allen is survived by his wife, Deborah; children: Jeff (Beth) Welther, Debbie (Brian) Highway, Jodi (Scott) Norcross and Ronni (Vince) Oliver; grandchildren: Donald (fiancé Sarah) Rebecca, Shelby, Dominic, Katelyn and Hunter; siblings: Joyce (Richard) Poppe, Kenneth (Dorothy) Welther and Larry Welther; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, January 18, 2021, at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 6pm-8pm. Masks must be worn and social distancing followed according to the current Covid rules.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Masks must be worn and social distancing rules followed according to the current Covid rulings.

The burial will be for the immediate family only at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be given to Mission 22, Autism Speaks or the American Heart Association.
