Alma C. Rohner, 87, of Caseville, died Friday, November 14, 2014 at her home while under hospice care.
Alma was born December 27, 1926 in Flint to the late William and Ethel (Gruber) Hayes. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1944. On June 13, 1946 she married Neil Rohner at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint.
To know Alma was to know a beautiful and wise woman, a devoted wife, a thoughtful, loving role model mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devout Catholic. For the past 50 years Alma lived with her husband in Caseville where they shared their summers with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her true passion was being Grama to her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years Neil; children Theresa (Guy) Watson of Florida, George (Doris) of Florida, Victor (Tiffny) of Caseville, and Bethany (Mark) Heinzelman of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory, great-grandson Antonio and sister Ethel Mary Cooper.
A funeral mass will be at 10:00am Tuesday, November 18th at St. Roch-OLPH Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Robert Pare presiding. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Flint.
Visitation will be 2-6 pm Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with a rosary at 6pm. She will lie in state one hour prior to mass at church on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory made be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
