Almeda Vaughan-Dauphin, age 95, passed away peacefully Friday, May 18, 2007 at Timberline Lodge, following a lingering illness. She was born May 28, 1911 in Caro, the daughter of the late Samuel Sheridan & Ethel (Larus) Fish, and was a lifelong area resident. She was united in marriage to Theodore (Ted) Vaughan on January 30, 1934. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1978. She later married Jack C. Dauphin on October 29, 1981 in Caro. He died on May 17, 1985. Almeda was a member of the Caro First Baptist Church and during her marriage to Ted Vaughan, helped her husband operate their sand and gravel company. Almeda is survived by one son and his wife, Paul T. & Sherry Vaughan of Mayville; two granddaughters, Valerie R. Vaughan of Laguna Niguel, CA and Lindsay S. Vaughan of Newport Beach, CA; one grandson, Kevin T. & RaeLynn Vaughan of Cass City; four great grandchildren, Brooke Mika, Logan Mika, Hunter Vaughan and Noah Vaughan, all of Cass City, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, Almeda was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Don Fish.
