Alvin "Al" James Seurynck

Alvin (Al) James Seurynck, our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at age 84, at his home in Bay City. He was formerly from Gagetown and Sand Point.

He was born in Cass City, MI on January 23, 1939 to the late Leo and Ila (Goslin) Seurynck. Alvin married Lorraine (Lori) Margaret Adams in 1961. A devoted husband, proud father and beloved "Pop Pop," Al valued family and friends above all. His time with his wife, children, was most precious to him, and his grand/great-grandchildren were the center of his world. He loved to spend his time taking them and his friends out on the Saginaw Bay in his beloved wooden boat that he named "Al's Gals," for fishing, tubing and pleasure cruising.

For the majority of his life, he was a farmer of sugar beets, wheat, navy beans and corn in the Gagetown, MI area. He was involved in his community as a member of the St. Agatha Parish council, member and past president of the Cass City Lion's Club and in serving as the past Elmwood Township Clerk. He served his country in the National Guard.

He is survived by his beloved and dedicated wife of 62 years, Lori. Also surviving him are his three children, Kelly Loniewski, Jill Lasersohn (husband, Jack), and Kristen Worrall (husband Patrick); his beloved grandchildren, Mara, Caroline, Jacqueline, Madeline, Mya, Field, Peter and great-grandson, Brooks; and his siblings, Ruth Cummings, Jeannie (Clare) Comment, Mary Lee Houghton, and Shelly (John) Seurynck Donaldson. He was preceded in death by his brother, David.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on December 23, 2023 at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown. Visitation at the church will begin at 9:30am until the time of Mass at 11am. Fr. Craig Carolan will be officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial of his cremains will take place at the church cemetery following the Mass.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Agatha Food Pantry or St. Agatha Cemetery Fund.
