Andrew Grabowski, age 97 years, of Watrousville, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. He was born on October 29, 1910 at Saginaw. Nick came to the Caro area and worked on farms, then carpentry, and in the early 1950s he went to work at Saginaw Steering Gear where he continued to work until his retirement in 1972. Andrew Grabowski and the former Lillian Beatrice Farnum were married on October 16, 1937 in Watrousville. She preceded him in death on October 12, 1992. He then married Irene Tedford and she preceded him in death in September of 2006. He was an accomplished artist in stained glass making. Nick enjoyed the out-of-doors, and in addition to pheasant hunting, he shot his last deer at age 93. Andrew was a former member of the Eagles and belonged to the Watrousville United Methodist Church, the Watrousville-Caro Historical Society and the Tuscola County Democratic Party as well as the AFL CIO. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Cappy Grabowski of Troy, Virginia; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Helen Krugielka of Owosso, Virgina Krugielka of Swartz Creek, Rose Erudt of Chesaning; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters. The funeral service will be held at the Watrousville United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Payne officiating. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Watrousville United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Watrousville United Methodist Church.
