Andrew Lyle Gyurko

Andrew Lyle Gyurko of Caro, age 95, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw, following a brief illness. Andrew was born December 21, 1919 in Caro, the son of the late Andy and Rose (Nagy) Gyurko of Caro. Andrew was united in marriage with the former Elsie Nagy on October 23, 1943, and she survives him. In his younger years, Andrew was a farmer and also worked campaigns at the Michigan Sugar Company in Caro for fifty years until he was seventy years old. He was an avid trapper and liked gardening, hunting and fishing. In his Golden Years, he loved to listen to his country western CD's, with his favorite songs being "My Tennessee Mountain Home, by Dolly Pardon, and Brett Young's "Faded Coat of Blue." Andrew enjoyed his grandchildren and family, watching the Detroit Tigers play, and just looking out his window at his farmland scenery. We will miss his smile and his love of life. Rest in Peace "Big Daddy." Andrew is survived by his loving wife of more than seventy-one years, Elsie Gyurko of Caro; three children, Edwin Gyurko of Caro, Harriet & Gene Trisch of Maine, Carol & Jeff Quinn of Caro; three grandchildren, Ryan & Shelly Trisch of Maine, Eric Quinn of Indiana, Kelly & Erik Robinson of Rochester; three great-grandchildren, Colton Trisch of Maine, Kayla and Quinn Robinson of Rochester; two nephews, Art Gyurko of Caro and Carl & Diane Gyurko of Caro; two great-nephews, Brian and Aaron Gyurko of Caro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul; two brothers and one sister, Art and Edwin Gyurko, and Julia Gyurko. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. In keeping with Andrew's wishes, cremation will follow. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Caro or the Alzheimer's Association.
