Andrew Juhasz

Andrew Juhasz, age 89, passed away peacefully at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Wednesday, November 18, 2009, following an extended period of declining health. Andrew was born December 12, 1919 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of the late Andrew & Mary (Valla) Juhasz, Sr. The family moved to Tuscola County one year later. Andy was united in marriage with the former Blanche F. Koza, December 7, 1946 at the Akron Methodist Church. They shared their lives together for the next sixty-two years. Andy was employed by the Michigan Sugar Company in Caro for thirty-four years and retired as the House Foreman in 1985. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church for seventy-two years and loved spending time with his family and friends and was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed family gatherings which included his favorite home cooked meals. He loved repairing small engines, gardening and farming. Andy received certification from the Tuscola County Technology Center in small engine repair. He also was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball. Andy was a kind and caring person. Andy is survived by his wife, Blanche F. Juhasz of Caro; three daughters and their spouses, Karen & Lynn Schriber, Joyce & James Mewhiney all of Caro, Deb & Roger Juhasz-Krawczyk of Saginaw; five grandchildren and their spouses, Brian & Annette Schriber, Kara & Greg Festian all of Caro, Andrea & Deron Stec of South Lyon, Nicole Mewhiney of Atlanta, Georgia and Erika & Kris Trisch of Waldorf, Maryland; nine great-grandchildren, Haley, Kent, Morgan and Cole Schriber, Nicklas Festian all of Caro, Brendon and Sydney Stec of South Lyon, Grace and Faith Trisch of Waldorf, Maryland; one sister, Betty Lou & her husband Edward Bartz of Troy, one sister-in-law, Emily Koza of Lincoln Park, one brother-in-law, Emil Koza of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Charles King; his infant brother, John Juhasz, his sister Margaret Vaughn and her husband Leland.
