Ann Cumings

Ann Cumings, age 92, passed away peacefully at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 following a brief illness. She was born April 10, 1916 in New York City, the daughter of the late Frank & Teresa (Kovacik) Kurtansky and came to Caro with her parents as a young girl. Ann worked at the J. C. Penney store in Caro for over twenty-five years, retiring on her sixty-fifth birthday in 1981. She attended Caro United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in her garden, playing cards, quilting baby blankets and putting together puzzles. Ann is survived by her two daughters, Carol Cumings of Caro, Linda Conlay and her husband, Robert, of Saginaw; two grandchildren, Tracy Turner and her husband, Tim, of West Branch, Jeffrey Sochocki of Hale; two great grandchildren Kevin Killinger and Taylor Sochocki, both of West Branch; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by two brothers, Rudy Kurtansky and Joseph Kurtansky.
