Ann M. Thompson

Ann M. Thompson of Gagetown, age 80, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro, following an extended illness. She was born May 10, 1935 in Pontiac, the daughter of the late Nathan J. and Velma L. (Almas) Wheeler. Ann was united in marriage with Melvin Jack Thompson on June 6, 1953 in Lapeer, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1984. She enjoyed making floral arrangements, gardening, playing bingo, going to the casino and "running the roads." Ann is survived by six children and their spouses, Melvin & Kathy Thompson of Caro, Vickie & Ken Ewald of Caro, Rod & Marie Thompson of Sebewaing, Randy & Kathy Thompson of Caro, Don Thompson of Gagetown, Paul & Courtney Thompson of Kingston; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Thompson, Timothy Thompson, Tammy Sattelberg, Tommy Ewald, Jack Thompson, Micky Thompson, Gunner Thompson and Makayla Thompson; eleven great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Wheeler of Unionville. In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at Rich Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Ann M.
