Anna Mae Ewald, age 88, of Elkton died Wednesday evening, November 9, at Lapeer Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 2, 1917, in Elkton to the late Ross and Caroline (Krull) Hedley.
On June 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Walter F. Ewald at her parent’s home in Chandler Twp. and they made their home in Elkton. Walt preceded her in death October 27, 2000.
Anna Mae was employed at the Elkton Elementary School in the kitchen for seven years and then at Sunny Acres in dietary ten years, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church and a past member of the Elkton Study Club. Anna Mae enjoyed flowers, needlework and her family.
Surviving are her daughter, LanaJo (Jay) Chase of Lapeer; her brother, Jake (Genevieve) Hedley of Gotts Corner; brother-in-law, Milton Andersen of Grand Blanc and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hedley of Elkton.
Preceding her in death were her brother, Hudson Hedley and three sisters, Audrey Hedley, Marlene Andrus and Joan Andersen.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, November 12, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. Pete Crawford, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Friday and at the church after 10 AM Saturday.
