Annabel Yax Langley of Bad Axe, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Huron Medical Care Facility with her family by her side. She was born on September 26, 1933 at home in Lake Twp., the daughter of the late James and Mary (Stirrett) Yax. Annabel worked at Hamil Manufacturing for fourteen and a half years, and would babysit for many, many families. She was a former member of St. Roch and St. Felix Alter Societies and the ladies auxiliary for many years. Annabel was a member of the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles for over forty-five years.
She loved to go for walks around Caseville, walking five miles a day. Annabel was very talented when it came to music, she could play the accordion, mandolin, piano, keyboard, and guitar. Not only could she play music, but she could sing and dance as well. Annabel enjoyed playing cards, especially, blitz and crazy rummy with her brothers, sisters, and family. She was never afraid to tell you what she was thinking and always had her own, right way of doing things. Annabel’s sassy, feisty, and loving spirit will be missed by all fortunate enough to know her.
Annabel leaves to cherish her memory, her six children, Dave (Cindy) Langley, Diane (Jerry) Hoyt, Ronald Langley, Mark Langley, Marla (Jeff) Flynn, and Duane Langley; grandchildren, Danielle (Scott) Pritchard, Eryn (Alexander) Curry, Angela Isham, Anthony Spencer, Beth (Ryan) Rudzis, Scott Langley, Mark (Natasha) Langley, Jr., Gary Schrader, Rhiannon Schrader, Jessica Langley, Rachel Flynn, and Kristen Cummins; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Yax; sister, Sandra (Edward) Klee; sister-in-law, Patricia Yax; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Annabel was preceded in death by her siblings, Francis (Hazel) Yax, Gerald (Marion) Yax, Lawrence Yax, Duane Yax, Agnes Klemmer, Marguerite Herriman, Lucy Ruth, Gladys Reilly, and Jean McGeachy; sister-in-law, Linda Yax.
Annabel’s funeral service will be on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00am at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon. Rev. Yesu Mulakaleti will officiate with the burial following at St. Felix Cemetery in Pinnebog. The family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 1:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Thursday from 10:00am until the time of her service at the funeral home.
