Annabelle "Ann" Iris Ackerman

Annabelle "Ann" Iris Ackerman, age 76, of Unionville, formerly Gagetown, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Research Center in Detroit.

Ann was born in Port Huron on January 13, 1947, to the late Ronald Hugh Rowbotham and Isabelle Edna (Cripps) Rowbotham. She married Duane Ackerman on November 12, 1966 at the Nazarene Church in Port Huron. Duane preceded her in death on December 22, 2019. She received her Associate's Degree from Northeastern Business School. Ann also enjoyed quilting, going on road trips, traveling south and lighthouse tours. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her 5 children: Gayle (Kevin) Ortner of Bay City, Christene (Dan) Swartzendruber of Essexville, Caroline (Brody) Robison of Grayling, Marjorie Ackerman of Rochester, New York and James Ackerman of Ormond Beach, Florida; grandchildren: Hilary (Courtney) Rau, Devin Ortner, Kaleb (Mackenzie) Ortner, Jason Swartzendruber, Jessica Swartzendruber, Austin Robison, Skyler (Brady Bowling) Robison and Rachel (Jake Younger) Ackerman; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Cora Varty, Jackie Bowman and Jane Rowbotham; and many nieces and nephews.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, James Rowbotham.

Memorial visitation will take place on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2pm-4pm.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Unionville Moravian Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Memorial donations may be given to ACW Ambulance or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
