Anne Lynette (Beller) Burkel

Anne Lynette (Beller) Burkel of Saginaw, formerly of Caro, age 91, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Anne was born April 12, 1933 in Fairgrove, the daughter of the late Henry and Elgene (Cramer) Beller. On October 15, 1955, Anne was united in marriage with Glen Burkel in Fairgrove and the couple cherished over forty-eight years of marriage before Glen’s passing in 2004. Anne dedicated decades of her career to the Caro Regional Center serving in various roles such as registered nurse, social worker, and eventually retiring as an administrator. Following her retirement, Anne and Glen moved to Forest Lakes where she found joy in baking pies, knitting, and playing card games - especially euchre. Anne was an independent woman with a stubborn streak and was well-known and loved for her quick wit. She was deeply devoted to her family, friends, and church, and her feisty nature and loving presence will be profoundly missed by all those who knew her.

Left to cherish Anne’s memory are her sons and their spouses, Scott Burkel & Joe Kirkendall and Dean & Connie Burkel; and her siblings and their spouses, Catherine & Gene Mueller, Lee & Laura Beller, and Wendy & Dennis LaFond. In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Singer and Carol Skidmore.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Kirk Abatelli officiating. Burial will follow at Almer Township Cemetery in Caro. Anne’s family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Dean Burkel, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
