Pigeon

Annette K. Henne, 68, of Pigeon passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Scheurer Health in Pigeon after a battle with diabetes and pain for many years.

Annette was born June 12, 1954 in Bad Axe to the late Leland and Marion (Killinger) Stoeckl. She graduated from Laker High School in 1972. She married DeVere Henne Jr. on October 30, 1971 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Annette drove school bus for Laker School District for over 30 years. She also did a variety of jobs throughout the summers. She was a cashier, cook, waitress and janitor for Laker Schools. Annette loved working in the yard and being outside. Annette coached the undefeated Bay Port Gulls Softball team for many years. She was a member of the Fairhaven Fire Dept. Women’s Auxiliary, supporting the department and youth programs. She was a member of the Bay Port United Methodist Church and taught Vacation Bible School. Annette loved driving her children on the bus to their sporting events and cheering for all the kids. She considered all the kids her kids and was there to help in anyway. She loved to watch her grandchildren compete in sports and extracurricular activities. When she became homebound, she still watched videos and pictures of her grandchildren doing the things they loved. She would always send a “good luck” text in the morning and the “so proud of you” text or call later.

Annette is survived by her husband DeVere Jr.; children Tracie (Darrin) Schuette of Cass City, Trever (Heather) Henne of Cass City and Tessa (Troy) Steinman of Pigeon; grandchildren Alexis, Abigail and Aiden Schuette, Tori and Tyson Steinman and Mariah and Caleb Henne; sisters Alverta Stoeckl of Saginaw, Roberta Stoeckl of Pigeon, Rose Maire Stoeckl of Saginaw and Marlene Hollenbeck of Swartz Creek; brother Leland (Kim) Stoeckl of Mt. Morris; sister-in-law Marceline (Mike) Fox of Sebewaing; brother-in-law Ralph Henne of Lansing; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law DeVere and Bette (Farmer) Henne; sister-in-law Brook Stock; and brothers-in-law Brian Stock, Charles Fox and David Hollenbeck.

Annette requested no services be held. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be given to Bay Port United Methodist Church.
