Anthony J. Krolikowski Jr., age 82, of Caseville, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at his home under hospice care, surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born March 9, 1927 in Detroit to the late Anthony and Helen (Susalla) Krolikowski. He graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit and then entered in the US Navy during WWII. He was proud of being a tool and die maker, having attended college at ITT. He began his employment at Lightweight Conveyor Co., Autorama Tool & Die Corp, Congress Tool & Die then went on to work for Chrysler before finishing his career at GM in the prototype department.
Tony and Aurora “Rose” were united in marriage on December 16, 2006 in Caseville. One of his fondest memories was a trip that he took with Rose to Mexico and California. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, the West Huron Knights of Columbus and 4th Degree, and the Masons. He was a renowned master craftsman and woodcarver specializing in decorative decoys and waterfowl. He also enjoyed teaching his craft at the Antons Art Center in Mt. Clemens. His work of art was displayed nationally. He enjoyed working in the garage amongst his tools, working on his decoys, and then participating in art shows, flea markets and gun shows. In addition, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Tony is survived by his wife Rose; children Charlene Boccaccio of Rochester Hills, Anthony III (Denise) of Kentucky, John (Cathy) of Prince Edward Island, Mary (Thomas) Frattaroli of Mt. Clemens, Geraldine (Brian) Abdoo of New Jersey, Deborah (Daniel) McDonald of Romeo, Virginia (Steven) Eroson of Alaska, Jane (Paul) Nugent of Caseville, Neil (Sue) Nuncio of Pigeon, Jeff (Jessica) Nuncio of Elkton and Jennifer (Aaron) Nim of California; 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother James of Clinton Twp and sister Sharon Snell of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Christine and previous wives Geraldine and Dorothy.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm Tuesday, September 29th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Rev. Jerome Bouverette officiating, followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary. The Caseville American Legion will present military honors.
Visitation will be 1-6 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the West Huron Centennial Knights of Columbus.
