MSGT (Master Gunnery Sergeant) Anthony Lee Mileski USMC (ret) received his final orders and reported to St. Peter, taking post to guard Heavens Gate. He is bound for Heaven because he was a believer and he had his time in Hell (two tours in Viet Nam). Semper Fi, Tony, Semper Fi. Anthony Lee Mileski died on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at his home in Radcliff, Kentucky. He was born on January 5, 1947 in Cass City to the late Anthony Maxon and Marie (Haines) Mileski. He grew up on the family farm on Rossman Road, one mile west of Kingston. He enlisted in the USMC in July of 1965 after graduating from Kingston High School. He married the former Janet W. Moore of Kingston on March 8, 1968 at Aunt Mary Silvernail Rickwalts home in Yermo, California. He was deployed two times to Viet Nam, was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California three times, spent three years in Iwakuni, Japan, once at USMC Air Station, Yuma, Arizona, once at Okinawa, 3 years recruiting duty in Chicago, and five years at Paris Island, South Carolina. He retired from the USMC in 1987. Tony worked at the Pensacola Naval Station in Florida for ten years and then moved back to Michigan and worked at Grayling Mercy Hospital for ten years. He retired again and moved to Radcliff, Kentucky in 2008. In addition to his wife, Janet, Tony is survived by three children and their spouses, Timothy & Wyndie Mileski of Summersville, South Carolina, Tonya & Wilson White of Seymour, Tennessee and Tracy & Tom Horn of St. Ignace, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Chrystine and Faith Mileski of Summersville, South Carolina, Kirsty, Kayla, Kara and Kellie White of Seymour, Tennessee, and John Horn of St. Ignace, Michigan; one great-granddaughter, Carmyn Wright of Seymour, Tennessee; one brother and three sisters, Paul & Dawn Mileski of Sumter, South Carolina, Victoria & Jeff Bell of Beauford, South Carolina, Melissa & Tim Dunlop of Bradenton, Florida and Laurie & Wayne Petroff of Channel View, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Patrick George Carter. A memorial service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wilber Silvernail officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at East Dayton Cemetery will full military honors.
