Antonietta Thorp

Antonietta S. Thorp, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Caro Community Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born November 26, 1928 in Taormina, Sicily, the daughter of the late Frederico and Anna Cacciattore. Antonietta was employed at the Caro Regional Center, retiring in 1988 after more than fifteen years in housekeeping. She enjoyed Bingo and being with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Rose Rios and her husband, Daniel, of Saginaw, and Susan Lagalo of Seminole, Florida; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; her surviving family in Sicily; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. In keeping with Mrs. Thorps wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Lay Minister Mary Ann Saenen officiating. Friends may call at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice or the Caro Lions Club Hearing Impaired Fund.
