April Lynn Henne

April L. Henne, 72, of Bay Port, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at home under hospice care.

April was born October 21, 1949 in Pigeon to George and Virginia (Kain) Roeber. In 1967 she graduated from Laker High School. On November 11, 1967 she married Leon Henne; he preceded her in death November 10, 2021.

April retired as a department manager from the Bad Axe Walmart in 2015. She was a civil war reenactor for 20 years belonging to the Confederate Unit of 5th Texas Company E. She was a member of Bay Port United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races, sewing, quilting, puzzles and word searches.

April is survived by her daughter Samantha Edgerton of Bad Axe; mother Virginia Roeber of Bay Port; grandsons Christian and Patrick Henne; brother Robert Roeber; and daughter-in-law Rebecca Henne. She was preceded in death by her father George and son Jason.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, March 30th at Bay Port United Methodist Church with Rev. Heather Nowak officiating. Burial will be New Bay Port Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.
